Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan I, which unites probably the greatest stars in Tamil film, is a finish of a fantasy for the business, says Karthi, who plays Vandiyadevan in the film. "This film has been a fantasy for Tamil film for the beyond 60-70 years. This is a unique second for our age as well as for our aggregate Tamil society." In a discussion with Ramya Subramanian, the entertainer, focuses on how his excursion with the film started numerous years back when Ratnam acquainted him with the universe of Kalki's work of art.
"Mani sir has been dealing with Ponniyin Selvan for a long time. In this way, when I was working with him as a Promotion years back, he gave me a joke and requested that I read it. He asked me the way things were and I let him know that I was unable to figure out it. As a matter of fact, I didn't understand that it was the tale of Ponniyin Selvan. All I could recall was the person name Vandiyadevan. However, for this film, when he moved toward me and inquired as to whether I would play Vandiyadevan, I let him know that regardless of whether he requests that I play a pony in the film, I would," Karthi reviews with a giggle.
Karthi isn't a rookie to the Mani Ratnam school of acting. Prior to featuring in Kaatru Veliyidai (2017), the entertainer teamed up with Ratnam as an associate chief during the 2000s. Karthi, who calls Kaatru Veliyidai the hardest film in his profession, contrasted Ratnam with any semblance of veteran movie producer K Balanchander, who pushed Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan to investigate different structures and styles in acting.
Karthi further says that the movie producer guarantees creativity in films. "For instance, we were doing a shot in a cavern for Ponniyin Selvan I. The group had put a light shaft at the top and it looked enchanted and regular. Yet, sir felt that the setting was like another film, and eliminated it. Thus, he even leaves out those things that are lovely and otherworldly, and looks past those for something better," says Karthi adding that this is likewise the justification for why Ratnam draws out the best in everybody.
The film, which will be delivered in two sections, went on floors in December 2019 and was enveloped with May 2021. Karthi, who alongside the remainder of his cast, needed to keep up with similar wellness system for the course of two years, talks about how actually requesting the interaction was.
"I took a deliberate and restricted measure of food that was accessible at home. Be that as it may, since I was lifting significant burdens, I used to get cramps. I was unable to go to the physio then, at that point (because of the pandemic), so I used to rest for a couple of days and keep on working out. Any place I used to go, I continued to work out. With regards to this film, we jabber about the characters and execution, yet it is a genuinely requesting film. You need to do a great deal of activity and do it rapidly because of time limitations. I needed to get ready for that. So what I comprehended from wellness is the amount you can push, pull, convey and run. There is no utilization on the off chance that you look perfect however you can't work. I think this is my focal point on my readiness for the film."
Ponniyin Selvan I is scheduled to raise a ruckus around town screens on September 30. The intermittent epic likewise stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi.
